Ex-Australian opener David Warner has joined the Seattle Orcas for the third installment of Major League Cricket (MLC), with play starting on June 12, 2025

Australian opener David Warner is set to start a new chapter in his cricketing career. The 37-year-old has joined the Seattle Orcas for the third season of Major League Cricket (MLC), which will be played in the United States between June 12 and July 13.

Warner, who now features in the PSL and leads the Karachi Kings, has plenty of T20 experience, having competed in leagues all over the world. He has played 401 T20 matches in his career and scored 12,956 runs with a strike rate of 140.27. He last year retired from international cricket in June.

He was one of the largest names that did not find buyers at the pre-IPL 2025 auction, although he had played in the tournament since 2009. Warner remains the fourth-highest run-getter in the IPL with 6,565 runs from 184 matches. This year, though, he made an important contribution in the BBL, where he again came back as captain of the Sydney Thunder and took them to the final. He was also the league's second-highest run-scorer with 405 runs in 12 innings.

Seattle led the MLC points table in the first 2023 season, but were defeated by MI New York in the final. In the second season captained by Heinrich Klaasen, they ended last with only a single victory in seven matches by.

The 2025 MLC will be held between June 12 to July 13. In contrast with last year, it will not conflict with The Hundred, where Warner will be representing the London Spirit.
