Cameron Bancroft set to miss Sheffield Shield final after a freak cycle accident
Cameron Bancroft is a keen cyclist, while cycling on Sunday he fell off his bike and landed on his head. And immediately he was taken to hospital. And hence he's ruled out of the final which is set to be commenced from Thursday (21st March) against Tasmania.

The highest run getter of Sheffield Shield 2023-2024 batter Cameron Bancroft is out of the final against Tasmania. Bancroft was sent hospital after a cycling accident which left him concussed and ended his dream run in Shield.
Cameron Bancroft is a keen cyclist, while cycling on Sunday he fell off his bike and landed on his head. And immediately he was taken to hospital. And hence he's ruled out of the final which is set to be commenced from Thursday (21st March) against Tasmania.
"[I'm] pretty gutted, but nice to hear he's okay and out of hospital," Whiteman told reporters on Wednesday. "I think it's pretty lucky that it wasn't much worse. He's got plenty of scratches. Hopefully we'll see him around the WACA this week, and I know that he's gutted to miss it, but he'll get around the team."
"He's done a lot of heavy lifting this year to get us into the final."
Cameron Bancroft was the highest run getter of the tournament, he piled 778 runs at a jaw dropping average ot 48.62. One of the key members behind Western Australia's success this season. While young gun Teague Wyllie is in line to replace Bancroft at the top of the order for Western Australia in the final.
Western Australia will be fighting for their third Shield title on the trot. While Tasmanian Tigers will be eyeing to touch the silverware for the first time after 2012-2013 season.
