The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wants to sit with not only Tamim Iqbal but also Shakib Al Hasan. BCB will want to know his plans as captain. Along with that, the future of the national team will be discussed in that meeting.

Shakib gave an interview to a private television of the country before the World Cup. In that interview, Shakib said that he does not want to lead in the ODI format even a day after the World Cup ends. Shakib has announced it himself but has not officially announced it yet.

BCB is not giving importance to the opinion given by Shakib in that interview. Jalal Yunus has faced the media on the Shakib issue. On the Shakib issue, he said, “Since Shakib was the captain in all three formats… he did not say anything officially. We cannot comment on this at all. That is why we assume he is our captain. If he sits down with us, I can tell you if he has his own plans."

He added, “What was said earlier was said in the media. Now if he doesn't tell us officially then we can't take what is being said in the media. We will understand what format Shakib wants to be in only after discussing with the board."
