Whoever comes as a spin coach, will have to work with all the teams of Bangladesh. Not only the national team but in particular the under-19 team and women's team cricketers also need to be looked after. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is looking for a spin coach for the national team with such conditions.
Until now Rangana Herath was the spin bowling coach of the national team. But the contract with him is over, he has to say goodbye. Herath, however, said he was in fresh talks with the board. Negotiations are also underway to work with basically all parties.
Jalal Yunus, Chairman of BCB's Cricket Operations Committee, said that the board has no objection to appointing Herath as the spin coach again if there is a deal with Herath.
He said, “We will give the circular soon. There are some contract issues with Herath. We’re talking directly about them. If he accepts, or both parties are happy, then we want to complete it.”
Whether Herath's journey continues or not, whoever comes in as coach will have to work at all levels, according to the board's demands. Jalal Yunus added, “Whoever comes as a spin coach, not only the national team, he should be used in many places. Maybe the women's team, HP, U19 team. Whoever we appoint, should be able to work in these places.”
