Despite winning the 2020 Youth World Cup under the leadership of Akbar Ali, the Bangladesh U-19 team could not come close to the expectations in the 2022 World Cup. Bangladesh have again started dreaming about the 2024 U-19 World Cup.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has organized several series for the youth in the country and outside the country to prepare for this World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka.

As part of that, the South African youth team is coming to Bangladesh on July 3. Bangladesh U-19 team will play five-match ODI series against South Africa U-19 team. The hosts are looking forward to doing well in this series as they could not take advantage against the Pakistan U-19 team at home earlier. For that, the Bangladesh youth team will have a 20-day camp before Eid-ul-Adha.

They have already started a fitness camp under BCB's local coach Sohail Islam at Mirpur's academy ground. Apart from fitness, Mahbub Ali Zaki will take care of the bowlers.

Head coach Stuart Law and other foreign coaching staff will join the camp on June 10 after vacation. After the fitness training in Mirpur, a 10-day skill training camp will start in Khulna on June 13. The cricketers will go on Eid vacation after the camp on June 23. The Bangladesh youth team will start the South Africa series with the first ODI at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on July 6.
