Earlier the day, Angelo Mathews notched up yet another fifty but Shakib removed him with a beautiful delivery. After passing the lead over 500, Sri Lanka declared their innings and set 511 run target for Bangladesh. Bangladesh batters tried this time but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They just couldn’t conjure up big runs and fell prey to the pressure applied by the Lankan bowlers espeically by Prabath Jayasuriya.
Mominul Haque once again was solid and brought up yet another fifty in this series against Sri Lanka. Shakib and Litton both had brilliant starts but couldn't get going for big knocks. Skipper Najmul Shanto failed yet once again, while youngstar Dipu too couldn’t grab the opportunities at home series. Mehdy batted positively and lived dangerously and he's still out there being unbeaten on 44* off 49 balls.
The pitch still offers massive for the batters to make strokes but Bangladesh are very low on resources. They're standing on 268-7, with Mehdy fighting with his 44*. Bangladesh need to climb a mountain to pull out something miracle.
