In a gripping T20 clash, Bangladesh A women emerged victorious over Sri Lanka A women by 10 runs in the third T20 at the SSC ground on Sunday (September 15). Bangladesh won the first two matches also. 

Bangladesh A women, batting first, struggled to build a substantial innings but managed to post a total of 97/9 in their 20 overs. Shathi Rani was the top scorer with 26 runs from 21 balls, while Dilara Akter contributed 13 runs before being run out. Despite these efforts, Bangladesh A women found it challenging to accelerate their scoring rate.

Sri Lanka A Women’s bowlers put in a disciplined performance, with Malsha Shehani taking 4 wickets for 12 runs, and Nimesha Madushani claiming 2 wickets for 19 runs. Their tight bowling restricted Bangladesh A women and kept them under pressure throughout the innings.

In response, Sri Lanka A women faced a tough challenge and were restricted to 87/8 in their 20 overs. Kaushini Nuthyanga was the standout performer with 21 runs off 22 balls, supported by Nilakshana Sandamini who added 22 runs from 37 balls. Despite these contributions, Sri Lanka A women struggled to maintain a steady flow of runs.

Bangladesh A Women’s bowlers delivered a commendable performance, with Nahida Akter and Marufa Akter each taking 2 wickets for 16 runs. Rabeya Khan and Fahima Khatun also contributed with crucial wickets, ensuring Sri Lanka A women could not chase down the target.
