Bangladesh's fringe players will get match practice as Bangladesh A and BCB High Performance Unit are set to play a series in Chattogram.
The sides will play three one-dayers on September 2, 4 and 6, and two four-dayers starting from September 9 and 15 respectively.
Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the HP Unit squad that includes the likes of Akbar Ali, the U-19 World Cup winning captain, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Towhid Hridoy, Parvez Hossain Emon and Anisul Islam Emon.
"The BCB High Performance squad’s Training Camp 2021 will start at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram from 19 August. The camp will be held in a bio-secure environment and includes three one day and two four-day matches against Bangladesh A team," a BCB release said.
While the A team will have players who play only red-ball cricket.
"We have prepared an 18-member squad for the A team. Most of the players are red-ball players, we have added a few others too. The squad will be announced once approved," BCB chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu said.
HP Unit will begin training from August 19. Players from both teams will continue skill and fitness sessions till October 8.
