Pakistan have announced their central contract on Sunday (October 27). Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have earned the top category. While opener Fakhar Zaman has been left out from the central contract.

Babar Azam and  Mohammad Rizwan are the only two players to earn the top category of Pakistan's central contract. 
Pakistan had their maiden Test series victory at home since 2021, and that came under Shan Masood's captaincy. As a reward he got contract, a media release from the PCB stating his retention in the category was "subject to captaincy". 

Babar Azam has retained the top place, along with Mohammad Rizwan. While ace paceman Shaheen Afridi has been dropped to the second category.

Fakhar Zaman, meanwhile, has missed out on a central contract for the first time in eight years. His long-time ODI opening partner Imam-ul-Haq has also missed out on a central contract .

Overall, totoal 25 members have earned centeal contract from the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board).

• Category A (2): Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan.
• Category B (3): Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood.
• Category C (9): Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, Shadab Khan.
• Category D (11): Aamir Jamal, Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Hurraira, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Usman Khan.
