Australian batting prodigy Will Pucovski is set to retire from professional Cricket following a series of head injuries and concussions. He was seen as the generational talent as Australia's future captain but injuries and mental health force him to end his Cricketing career.

Will Pucovski represented Australia for only one Test match and is set to retire early due to a series of concussions and mental health problems.
Pucovski, 26, is set to retire due to concussions and mental problems. He was concussed as recently as in March 2024 during a match between Victoria and Tasmanian Tugers and was forced to retire hurt after Riley Meredith struck him on the helmet.

The blow ruled him out of the rest of the Australian summer and also forced him to opt out of a contract with Leicestershire for the English summer.

Pucovski also admitted that these blows affected his mental health.

Pucovski represented Australia for only one Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) against India, where he made a scintillating 62 on debut against an attack which comprised Bumrah, Siraj, Ashwin and Jadeja. And in the second innings, he scored 10.

But his first class records are whopping and made him one of the faces of Australian Cricketing circuit. From 36 first-class matches, Pucovski piled up 2,350 runs at an average of 45.19 with seven hundreds. He is a rare Aussie cricketer to never a T20 Cricket after the inception of Big Bash League (BBL). Though he received a contract with Melbourne Stars back in 2020/2021 but he didn’t play a single match.
