Sri Lanka yet again lose another player to injury in the World Cup Qualifiers for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. Fast bowler Lahiru Kumara has been ruled out of the rest of tournament due to a side strain, which he suffered in the last match against Netherlands, where Sri Lanka narrowly escaped a defeat against the Dutch.
As a replacement, left hand batter and right arm offspinner Sahan Arachchige has been selected. Arachchige was one of the three stand by player sent by Sri Lanka to Zimbabwe for the tournament.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 has approved a player replacement for Sri Lanka.
