New Zealand A squad of seven international players and two new faces has been selected for the upcoming tour of Australia, the country's Cricket Board said on Tuesday.
Ajaz Patel and Tim Seifert are among seven internationals selected in the New Zealand senior squad for the series against Australia A. The squad also includes New Zealanders Tom Bruce, Jacob Duffy, Scott Kuggeleijn, Adi Ashok and Dean Foxcroft.
Ashok and Foxcroft will be available for the second top-flight game, with MacKay joining the squad after attending the BlackCaps warm-ups in England, while Seifert will join the roster for the last two one-day games.
The tour, which includes two first class four-day games and three 50-over games, begins August 31. The team depart for Australia on August 24 before starting their first four-day game at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on August 28.
Patel, who has played 14 Test matches for the Kiwis, will be available for the four-day game against Australia A. The 34-year-old has a record of third-best Test numbers in an innings (10-119 v India). in 2021). Seifert, on the other hand, is the most experienced player on the team with 49 appearances for the Black Caps. He will join the squad for the last two one-day games against Australia A.
