Punjab Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs in a low scoring thriller on Tuesday (April 15). Harshit Rana led KKR to an excellent bowling display, bundling PBKS out for a measly 111 runs. In response, Yuzvendra Chahal spun a web for the hosts, helping them claim a fine 16 runs victory.

Opting to bat first, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh started superbly, adding 39 runs off just 3.2 overs before the departure of Arya after his 22 off 12 balls. Rana then removed skipper Shreyas Iyer for a two-ball duck. Rana then got Prabhsimran Singh rid off as PBKS fell in trouble.

Varun Chakaravarthy came in and along with Sunil Narine both the spin duo ran through the PBKS lineup as the hosts were skittled out for a paltry 111 runs.

In reply, Xavier Bartlett gave PBKS a superb start, removing Quinton de Kock cheaply. Marco Jansen knocked over Sunil Narine as KKR were in tatters earlier on. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi then tried to steady the ship but the skipper departed to Yuzvendra Chahal as the leg spinner were spinning a web, dismantling the entire KKR middle order and leaving them in sinking position.

At the tad backend of the innings, Andre Russell tried to pull off the heist but Marco Jansen bowled tightly and netted with Russell's crucial wicket, helping his side claim a fine 16-run victory.
