Sri Lanka ended the year 2017 with the record of most defeats by a team and they have started the new Year with another defeat against Zimbabwe in the tri-nation series.

With all sorts of pressure mounting on Sri Lanka, they will be facing the hosts Bangladesh on Friday in the third match of the tri-nation series. Bangladesh won their first match against Zimbabwe convincingly by 8 wickets. To stay alive and fight in the tournament, Sri Lanka need to beat Bangladesh and batting coach Thilan Samaraweera is looking forward to it. He said: "The good thing is, we still have matches in this tournament. We couldn't play the first match according to our ability." Samaraweera added: "But if we can play according to our ability tomorrow, then it can be a good result for us. This can happen in a series like tri-nation. We can lose 1-2 matches. But the important thing is to take the positives and look forward to work that out in the remaining matches." On the other hand, Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman has come back from injured and he showed a glimpse of his old form in the first match against Zimbabwe. When asked about Mustafizur: "Not only Mustafizur, we have different plans for each player. But Bangladesh have got some amazing spinners."
