Team India captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for just 10 runs early on Day 4 of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Test at The Gabba in Brisbane. Rohit’s struggle to convert starts in Test cricket continued on Tuesday, December 17, as he fell to Pat Cummins in the seventh over of the day, leaving India in a tight spot.
Rohit, who had shown signs of promise with a couple of elegant shots, was looking to settle in when he was undone by a delivery from Cummins that was pitched perfectly in the channel outside off. Attempting a drive, Rohit edged the ball to wicketkeeper Alex Carey, giving Australia a crucial breakthrough early in the day.
The incident occurred in the 24th over of India’s first innings when Rohit was trying to build a partnership with KL Rahul. However, his footwork betrayed him as he remained stuck in the crease, pushing tentatively at the delivery. Carey made no mistake behind the stumps, safely pouching the edge to send the Indian skipper back to the pavilion.
