The quality of umpiring has already gone from bad to worse in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League. Several experts, commentators and even former Australian players urged Cricket
to introduce Decision Review System such that the umpiring blunders can be minimised to a greater extent.
The umpires came under fire for their inability to give the right decisions on the field. During the BBL 10 qualifier match between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers, Mitchell Marsh totally lost his cool after he became the victim of terrible umpiring in the match. The incident happened during the 13th over bowled by left-arm spinner Steve O' Keefe. The spinner bowled a tad wide which tempted all-rounder Mitchell Marsh to play the shot. However, as it turned out, he missed the ball completely. Although there was a clear gap between the bat and the ball, Sixers' wicketkeeper Josh Philippe made a loud appeal and even Steve O'Keefe made a confident appeal. The umpire was convinced and raised his finger, leaving Marsh in total disbelief. He even crossed his limits and used cuss words at the umpire. “F**king sh*t umpiring,” he shouted and then made his way back to the dressing room. Marsh lost control over his emotions and as a result, he used offensive words at the match official.

was the top batsman as he scored 69 off 41 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Ashton Turner scored 33 off 22 balls including 1 four and 2 sixes. In reply, Sixers aced the run-chase in 17 overs and won the game by 9 wickets. They became the first team to qualify for the BBL 10 final. James Vince was the pick of the batters for Sixers as he scored an unbeaten 98 off 53 balls including 14 fours and a six. Josh Philippe was the second-best batsmen for Sixers as he scored 45 off 28 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes.
