Pakistan star batter Babar Azam fell victim to Australia's Adam Zampa in the first ODI between Pakistan and Australia on Monday, November 4, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). After getting off to a promising start, Babar was dismissed for 37 off 44 balls, featuring four boundaries. His wicket was a crucial breakthrough for the Australians in the series opener.

The dismissal came as a surprise to Babar, who was caught off guard by the delivery’s low bounce.

The debate immediately began about whether Babar could have played the ball on the front foot rather than opting to stay back. Regardless, the wicket of Pakistan’s key batter was a significant blow to their innings, which was already under pressure.

At the time of writing, Pakistan is struggling at 152/7 after 38 overs, with captain Mohammad Rizwan being the top scorer so far with 44 runs. Rizwan's dismissal has left the team in a tough spot as they seek to rebuild and put a respectable total on the board against a strong Australian bowling attack.
