The defending champions of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the Guyana Amazon Warriors, continued their winning streak in the 2024 season with a commanding 40-run victory over St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in match 7 at Basseterre. This marks the Warriors' second consecutive win, while the Patriots remain winless after three games.

In a rain-affected match, the Warriors posted an imposing total of 266/7 in their 20 overs, the second-highest team total in CPL history. Shimron Hetmyer was the standout performer, blasting 91 runs off just 39 balls, including 11 sixes. Hetmyer, along with Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who scored a blistering 69 off 37 balls, led the Warriors to a dominant position. The duo stitched together a 116-run partnership in just 47 balls, leaving the Patriots' bowlers struggling for answers.

Gurbaz's innings came to an end in the 14th (13.2) over when he was bowled by South African speedster Anrich Nortje. Nortje delivered a fuller-length ball that Gurbaz attempted to hit across the line, only to miss, and the ball crashed into the stumps, ending his aggressive knock.

The Patriots put up a spirited chase, with Andre Fletcher smashing a quickfire 81 off just 33 balls. His innings gave the Patriots some hope, but after he was dismissed by Gudakesh Motie, their batting lineup collapsed. Imran Tahir played a crucial role with the ball, delivering a game-changing double-wicket maiden, and the Patriots ultimately fell short, finishing at 226/8 in their 20 overs.
