Towhid Hridoy has quickly become a mainstay in Bangladesh's white-ball squad, securing his place in both ODI and T20 lineups with impressive performances. As a trusted batter, he has delivered reliable innings that have cemented the team's faith in him. With the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan approaching, Hridoy stands ready to shoulder extra responsibility, particularly in the absence of star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
Before departing for Dubai, Hridoy shared his mindset with the media, emphasizing his flexibility with the batting order. “As I've mentioned before, I’m ready to adapt wherever the team needs me,” Hridoy said, underscoring his commitment to putting the team’s priorities above his own batting position. “The order will be decided based on the team's best interests and what the situation demands,” he added.
With both Shakib and Litton Das absent from this series, Hridoy acknowledges that Bangladesh's batting lineup could see adjustments. “Batting roles will likely shift, and we’ll have clarity once we’re on the field. I’m prepared to play in any position the team requires,” he further said.
Hridoy is also optimistic about Bangladesh's performance in his favorite ODI format. “We’ve always done well in this format, and I’m confident we’ll start strong. Expectations are naturally high, and we’ll give our best to meet them. I request everyone’s support and prayers so we can deliver for our team and our country,” he expressed.
The three-match ODI series against Afghanistan kicks off in Sharjah on November 6.
