Toronto Nationals have won Global T20 Canada beating Montreal Tigers by 8 wickets in the final on Sunday (August 11).

Toronto easily chased down the target of 97 runs given by Montreal Tigers. Jason Behrendorff, who bowled brilliantly and took three wickets, was named Man of the Match. 

Losing the toss and batting first, Montreal Tigers did not get off to a good start. They lost wickets at regular intervals since the beginning. Captain Chris Lynn, Tim Seifert, Gerhard Erasmus were the victims of Jason Behrendorff one by one within powerplay.

Only three batters touched the double-digit score. They are- Anoop Ravi (10 off 15 balls), Corbin Bosch (35 off 33 balls) and Jaskaran Singh (16 off 26 balls). They failed to reach even 100 runs. They scored 96 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets. Behrendorf took 3 wickets conceding 8 runs in four overs. Romario Shephers also got two wickets.

Chasing a small target, both openers of Montreal- captain Colin and Unmukt Chand were dismissed within first two overs. But after that, Andries Gous and Rassie van der Dussen tackled the situation. Toronto Nationals got an easy win with five overs in hand with their unbroken partnership of 85 runs. Gous was unbeaten on 58 runs off 49 balls. Van der Dussen was unbeaten on 30 runs off 34 balls.
