Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto emphasizes on improvement after the fifth T20I defeat against Zimbabwe at home on Sunday (Mirpur 12).

Bangladesh lost the match by a big margin of 8 wickets after posting 157 runs batting first. Bangladesh started off very shakily as they lost 3 wickets within 15 runs. Then, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mahmudullah Riyad tackled the situation. Though Shanto got out after scoring 36 runs, Mahmudullah picked up a half-century. Shakib helped him with 21 runs off 17 balls and Jaker Ali played a cameo innings of 24 runs from just 11 balls. Mahmudullah scored 54 runs off 44 balls.

Shanto praises Mahmudullah and Jaker after the match. “Today I think the way Riyad and Jaker played really happy for them. Obviously, I think we didn't start well today. But there was an opportunity in the middle. Shakib also batted in the middle couple of overs. I am really happy with them,” Shanto said.

However, Shanto thinks there are many areas which need to improve before the T20 World Cup and the upcoming USA series is the opportunity to do these. “The way we played in this series there's a lot of areas we can improve. Butin the world cup, I think we will prepare ourselves very well. (USA series) Another three match opportunity for ourselves to prepare and we will try our best there,” Shanto added.

Despite the loss in the last T20I, Bangladesh win the series by 4-0.
