Tanzim Hasan Sakib continues to
impress with his disciplined bowling for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the
Global Super League. The young Bangladeshi pacer delivered another economical
spell, taking a crucial wicket and contributing significantly to his team's
latest win. After an early setback in the tournament, Guyana Amazon Warriors
have bounced back with a commanding performance against Hampshire.
In the sixth match of the league,
held at Providence, Hampshire batted first and posted a total of 146/6 in their
allotted 20 overs. The highlight of their innings was a stellar knock by
Pakistan's Shan Masood, who smashed 79 runs off 54 balls with eight fours and
two sixes. Late contributions from Toby Albert (22* off 9) and James Fuller
(17* off 10) helped push Hampshire's score to a competitive total.
Chasing 147, Guyana found
themselves in trouble early, losing Kevlon Anderson and Shai Hope for just 18
runs. However, the middle-order duo of Moeen Ali (20) and Shimron Hetmyer (24)
steadied the ship. Contributions from Roston Chase (33 off 26), Gudakesh Motie
(16 off 10), and an unbeaten cameo by Hasan Khan (27* off 18) ensured that
Guyana crossed the target with 10 balls and four wickets to spare. Romario
Shepherd sealed the victory with a quickfire 11* off just 5 balls.
With another solid performance,
Sakib and the Guyana Amazon Warriors are proving to be strong contenders in
this year's league, maintaining momentum as they eye the title.
