Young Bangladeshi pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib is embarking on a significant journey as he flies to Guyana to participate in the prestigious Global Super League. Representing the host team Guyana Amazon Warriors, the U19 World Cup-winning fast bowler seeks to make his mark in the global T20 franchise arena.

Before boarding his flight on Wednesday evening, Sakib shared a heartfelt message on social media, seeking blessings and guidance for his new adventure. "Heading towards Guyana, may Allah ease my journey," he posted on Facebook. 

The Global Super League brings together top teams worldwide, including the Lahore Qalandars, Hampshire, Victoria, and Rangpur Riders—the sole Bangladeshi representative. However, Sakib will not don Rangpur's jersey but instead feature for the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Sakib’s inclusion in the Guyana squad came via a personal invitation from legendary South African spinner Imran Tahir, who captains the Warriors. Sharing his excitement, Sakib stated, "Imran Tahir messaged me on WhatsApp, and we continued the discussion. This is my first franchise league outside Bangladesh, and I hope performing well here will open doors for more opportunities."

The Global Super League kicks off on November 27, with Guyana facing Lahore Qalandars in the tournament opener. The Rangpur Riders will debut the following day against Hampshire. Notably, on December 5, Rangpur will clash with Guyana at Providence Stadium in Guyana—a much-anticipated face-off.

Sakib is optimistic about showcasing his talent in this international tournament, which could lead to greater opportunities in the global franchise cricket scene. The experience of sharing a dressing room with international stars under Imran Tahir's leadership will undoubtedly enhance his skill set and confidence.
