Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza involved into politics in 2018 and became an MP under Awami League. Poster boy Shakib Al Hasan also followed his leader's way and became MP in 2024 under the same political party. During the anti discrimination quota movement and then in the overthrowing dictatorship movement both the Cricket stars were silent. And after the succesful movement, both of them facing severe backlash from the fans.

Nurul Hasan Sohan 
Wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan thinks that no one should had involved into politics before retiring from Cricket.

"This is obviously unacceptable. Politics is a big thing. It's tough to give your best on the field after joining into politics. You do politics after retiring from Cricket. There should be some protocols for active cricketers." - Sohan said.

Sohan was vocal during the anti-discrimination quota movement. He explains the reasons behind him joining and supporting students.

"I first posted on this on 16th July. I didn’t know all the things about it. But students were dying and I had some responsibilities. Perhaps I did nothing. Thanks to the students, it's their credit. I tried something to do from my position. I tried to speak up the much I needed."

"As I live in Bashundhara Residential, I was infront of the Jamuna. I saw students from private universities, those don't need quota reformation or anything. Everyone was coming out to join with the students. I don’t understand politics, I don’t try to. But people got their freedom of speech back. What students did, is inspiration for all. What we couldn’t do, students showed how to get the job done".- Sohan concluded.
