Afghanistan’s seasoned all-rounder Mohammad Nabi played a key role in his team's victory over Bangladesh in the ODI series, delivering strong performances with both bat and ball. Reflecting on his contributions, Nabi revealed his mindset following the last World Cup, saying, "In my mind, from last World Cup, I was retired but then we qualified for the Champions Trophy and I felt if I can play that, it will be great."

Nabi, awarded Player of the Series for his 135 runs and two wickets over three matches, emphasized the importance of guiding younger teammates. "Small contributions from my side for the youngsters will be great insight," he noted, describing his advisory role with young spinners like Ghazanfar and Kharote, whose bowling he helped refine.

Nabi’s focused preparation before the series was evident in his improved batting, as he shared, "In the last season, I did not do well with the bat. But I worked harder before the series and it was my target to perform in this series (with the bat)." During the successful chase, Nabi provided vital guidance to Azmatullah Omarzai, encouraging him to focus on singles, staying composed, and letting boundaries come naturally: “Spoke to Omarzai about just taking singles. Wicket was easy and ball was coming on. So, (was speaking about) watching the ball, playing straight and that the boundaries will come."

This win marked Afghanistan's third consecutive ODI series victory, showcasing their strengthening roster and skill development as they prepare for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
