Indian cricketer Washington Sundar recently made a stellar comeback into the national set-up after a long time now. He has had multiple injuries in recent times but he recuperated before he let his ball do the talking in the recently-concluded T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Washington SundarHe finished the T20I series as the joint highest wicket-taker with as many as eight wickets. Apart from taking wickets, he kept the opposition batters in check by sticking to his line and length. Rightly so, he was adjudged the Man of the Series.

In fact, he was expected to feature in the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, he didn't get an opportunity to play in the first two games. Now that Team India have already got the job done, the think-tank should be looking to give Sundar a chance in the dead rubber.

The third and final T20I will get underway soon today at 7:00 PM (IST). What sets him apart is his potential to contain runs and mount pressure on the batters. Washington can be a reliable option for India in the latter stages of the game as there will be some purchase for the spinners.

He has taken 42 wickets in 48 T20Is at a pretty decent economy of 6.95, which is indeed worth applauding, considering the high-paced nature of the format.
