India beat Zimbabwe by 42 runs on Sunday (14th July) at Harare Sports Club, Harare. A solid 58 off 45 deliveries from Sanju Samson and a quick-fire cameo of 26 off just 12 balls from Shivam Dube helped India post 167 on the board. In reply, Mukesh Kumar ran riot through the Zimbabwe's batting lineup and claimed 4 wickets to hand India 42 runs win to end the series by 4-1.

Earlier, being asked to bat first, India had a terrible start, losing Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma inside the powerplay. Wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson stood tall and scored a gutsy 58 off 45 deliveries, including 1 boundary and 4 sixes.

He was supported by Shivam Dube very well, who blasted a 26 off just 12 deliveries to help India post 167 on the board.

In reply, Mukesh Kumar teared apart Zimbabwe's top order as he knocked over Wesley Madhvere for a 3 ball duck and then had Brian Bennet cheaply. T Marumani and Dion Myers stitched a fine partnership together but couldn’t make it a sustainable one as Dube gave India the much needed breakthrough.

Zimbabwe had a horrible collapse at the middle order but at the tad end of the innings, Faraz Akram hit a blasting 27 off 13 deliveries but couldn’t take Zimbabwe home.

Washington Sundar was adjusted as the player of the series for his economical bowling as he claimed 8 wickets in his 5 matches.
