Bangla Tigers faced another defeat in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, managing only 72 runs in their 10 overs against Deccan Gladiators. Despite being unbeaten, Shakib Al Hasan struggled under pressure, scoring just 15 runs off 22 balls. With such a low total, the bowlers had little chance to make an impact, as the Gladiators chased down the target comfortably.

Winning the toss, Deccan Gladiators’ captain Nicholas Pooran opted to field first, a decision that paid off handsomely. Hazratullah Zazai fell in the opening over, and a collapse followed as Bangla Tigers' top order crumbled. The first four batters combined for just 23 runs. Mohammad Shahzad, Dasun Shanaka, and Liam Livingstone failed to make an impression, leaving Shakib and Iftikhar Ahmed to rebuild.

Shakib’s innings, however, lacked momentum, with his 15 runs coming off 22 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 19 off 15 balls before being dismissed, while Rashid Khan chipped in with an unbeaten 12 off 8 balls in the death overs. The Tigers ended at 72/6 in their 10 overs.

For the Gladiators, Richard Gleeson was the star with three wickets, while Maheesh Theekshana claimed two.

Chasing a modest target of 73, Deccan Gladiators lost Tom Kohler-Cadmore early for 17 runs. However, captain Nicholas Pooran and Jos Buttler ensured there were no further hiccups. Pooran smashed an unbeaten 36 off just 13 balls, while Buttler added 29 runs from 13 deliveries.

The chase was wrapped up in the sixth over when Shakib conceded a six on his very first delivery. The Gladiators secured a dominant 9-wicket victory, exposing Bangla Tigers’ frailties once again.

Despite being a seasoned T20 star, Shakib Al Hasan’s performance was underwhelming. While he remained unbeaten, his inability to accelerate added pressure on the team. With the ball, he conceded a six off his first delivery, further highlighting the Tigers’ struggles in all departments.
