Los Angeles Knight Riders beat Texas Super Kings by 12 runs on Saturday (6th July) at Grand Prierie View Stadium, Dallas. A swashbuckling 68 off only 45 deliveries from Unmukt Chand and some little cameos from Corne Dry and NR Kumar helped LAKR post 162 on the board. In reply, sensational bowling from Spencer Johnson and Sunil Narine helped LAKR defend the total.
Being asked to bat first, LAKR didn’t have a solid way to start. Losing two wickets earlier on before Unmukt Chand and Shakib Al Hasan took the onus. Shakib played a little cameo of 18 off 13, including 3 boundaries before his departure. While Chand was the standout batter from LAKR as he played a great knock of 68 off only 45 deliveries. LAKR posted 162 on the board, with lower orders wagged for some vital runs at the backend of the innings.
In reply, TSK were ominous to the run chase as Devon Conway was going at a rapid pace. He brought up his fifty before Ali Khan knocked him over. Spencer Johnson had a brilliant new ball spell which gave LAKR a great start with captain Sunil Narine sneaked in with economical spell.
