Bangladesh have posted a competitive 245 on the board against the Kiwis on Friday(13th October). Mushfiqur Rahim's fluent 66 aided by some brilliant finishing from Mahmudullah Riyad [41 off 49 balls] helped Bangladesh post 245 on the board. For New Zealand, Lockie Ferguson was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets, Trent Boult and Matt Henry properly assisted him with their 2 wickets each.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first. Bangladesh came to bat and lost their opener Litton Das to Trent Boult for a golden duck. Tanzid Hasan smacked 4 boundaries and scored 16 off 17 balls before falling to Lockie Ferguson. Mehedi Miraz too followed his openers and went back the pavilion as he was out after scoring 30 off 46 balls.
Najmul Shanto had an off colored day and he too was removed early. Shakib and Mushfiqur took the rein and made 96 run stand which took Bangladesh to 152 before Shakib fell to Lockie Ferguson for 40 off 51 balls and Musfiqur made a fifty and scored 66 off 75 balls before getting knocked over to Matt Henry.
Towhid Hridoy couldn’t do anything as he was gone to Boult after scoring 13 off 25 balls. Mahmudullah Riyad gave Bangladesh a brilliant finish at the backend of the innings and his fine 41 off 49 deliveries helped Bangladesh post 245 on the board.
