Shakib played only four matches for Mohammedan in the last DPL. He didn’t come good with the bat there. Earlier, Shakib was in the news for breaking the stumps by kicking while playing for Mohammedan in DPL. He was banned for five matches in that incident.

However, it is not known why Shakib is leaving Mohammedan. AGM Sabbir confirmed the news of Shakib leaving Mohammedan on behalf of the club, but he also did not give the reason. Apart from that, nothing is yet known about which team Shakib can join in the next season after leaving Mohammedan.
