In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic throughout the globe, the remaining second and third one-day international matches between India and South Africa might take place behind closed doors, informed by a BCCI official on Thursday after the first ODI was called off without a ball being bowled. second-third-odi-between-india-sa-likely-to-be-played-behind-closed-doors

“The BCCI is in receipt of the sports ministry’s advisory. Obviously, if we are advised to avoid large gatherings, we will have to abide by it,” a BCCI source told PTI. The second and third ODI will be played in Lucknow and Kolkata on March 15 and 18 respectively. Meanwhile gruesome speculations have risen regarding the upcoming Indian Premier League. The Central government of India has suspended all visas to the country till April 15 as part of measurements to restrict the spread of coronavirus which has caused doubts over the availability of international stars during the tournament. The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is scheduled to commence from March 29, with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings meeting at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for the opening encounter. The number of people affected by coronavirus in the country climbed to 73 with 13 fresh cases, including one foreign national. Kerala had the most cases which is 17. The Sports Ministry of India clearly stated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) along with other national federations that any event that is scheduled to be held amid the coronavirus outbreak will have to be behind closed doors. Union Sports Secretary Radhey Shyam Julaniya said,

"All national federations, including the BCCI, have been told to adhere to the guidelines and advisory issued by the ministry of health and public welfare. We have also told them to avoid any public gathering and if a sporting event has to be organised, it should be done without gathering of people."
