Sanju Samson’s extraordinary knock stole the show, as he hammered five consecutive sixes in a single over, leaving Bangladesh’s bowlers in disarray. The Indian team posted an imposing total of 297, thanks to the combined efforts of their batters, with Samson’s aggressive century being the highlight of the match.

Facing leg-spinner Rishad Hossain in the 10th over, Samson unleashed a barrage of sixes. After a dot ball on the first delivery, he followed it up by sending the next five balls flying over the boundary, scoring 30 runs off the over. This explosive display left Rishad unable to bowl further in the match.

After the game, Samson shared the story behind his power-hitting. " I have been trying to do something like this (five sixes in an over) from last one year. I was chasing it and it happened today," Samson said. " My mentor tells me 'you have to hit five sixes in an over, I'm waiting for that,' I was chasing it and it happened today."

Samson’s stunning performance wasn’t limited to just that over. He had already given India a flying start in the powerplay, hitting four consecutive boundaries. Reflecting on his approach, Samson said, "Those early boundaries in the powerplay gave me a lot of confidence. I knew I was set, and it allowed me to accelerate and aim for a big score."
