Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor has trained under Dinesh Lad, coach and mentor of Indian opener Rohit Sharma, for his upcoming role of a cricketer in the sports drama Jersey.

According to reports, Shahid also continues to train under State-level Ranji Trophy coaches to ensure authenticity in his performance.
Another big fact that could leave you awestruck is that, an eight-member team, including certified athletic trainers and fitness experts from the United Kingdom, has been hired to help Shahid. And Shahid is not a newcomer in cricket either' he actually played cricket at the college and club levels.
"Shahid, who is known to immerse himself in serious preparation for his roles, was thrilled with the opportunity to learn under Dinesh. The actor worked on batting techniques with Dinesh Lad for a few sessions during the initial schedules of the shooting in November. He picked up the footwork and different styles of stroke play from the renowned coach,"
a source has been quoted as saying by the Deccan Chronicle.
Though half of the film's shooting has already been done and dusted, Shahid is yet to stop training. He hits the nets whenever opportunity arises, and during shooting breaks. It has been learnt that as the film is now being shot in Chandigarh, the actor is training under Haryana state coaches at the moment.
