India captain Rohit Sharma emphasized the need for workload management as his team prepares to face Bangladesh in a two-Test series. After a month-long break from cricket, India is set to kick off their busy schedule, which includes 10 Tests in just 15 weeks.

"We are starting after a long time, actually," Rohit Sharma acknowledged. However, he expressed confidence in India's strategy to handle the strain, particularly for fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. With heavy workloads anticipated as India gears up for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia later this year, plans are already in place.

"We have laid out some plans on how we are going to manage these bowlers. It depends on their workload in these games," Rohit explained. He noted how India had managed similar situations well in the past, giving both Bumrah and Siraj rest when needed.

India will conclude their two-Test series against Bangladesh on October 1 and will get a break from red-ball cricket before facing New Zealand. They are also scheduled to play five Tests in eight weeks in Australia starting in November. Given the intensity of this schedule, Rohit emphasized the importance of making smart decisions regarding player management.

"You want your best players to play all the games, but that's not always possible because of the amount of cricket happening," he said. The captain also mentioned the inclusion of new fast bowlers like Yash Dayal in the squad and praised the exciting prospects seen in domestic competitions like the Duleep Trophy.

"I am not too worried about the kind of bowlers that are waiting in the wings for us," Rohit said, expressing confidence in India's depth in the fast-bowling department.

India's preparation for the upcoming series has been thorough, with the team arriving in Chennai a week before the first Test to maximize their readiness. "We assembled here on the 12th and have spent good time on the field getting everything together," Rohit said. "In terms of preparation, I feel we are quite ready for this game and what lies ahead."
