In November last year, Imad announced his retirement after not getting a chance in the Pakistan team. Unhappy with Misbah-ul-Haq's coaching panel, Amir announced his retirement in 2020. There is a lot of discussion about the return of the two to the team. But former captain Mohammad Hafeez is not happy with their return.
