According to report, a record 254 foreign players have registered for the upcoming ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The list of foreign players available for the upcoming ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been released and features an unprecedented 254 international cricketers.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is gearing up for the ninth edition of the PSL and a significant number of foreign players have actively expressed their availability for the tournament.

According to an official, the list includes players from various cricketing nations, with conspicuously no prominent Australian names included in the registration for PSL 9. Of the registered players, 20 fall into the Platinum category, with a significant proportion coming from England.

The PSL draft will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The expected dates for PSL 9 are February 8, 2024 to March 24, 2024.

The process of renewing the local player categories for the upcoming ninth edition of the tournament was completed on November 10, with nine player categories upgraded.

The registration window for foreign players opened on October 25 and several top players from around the world showed interest.

The trading and storage window is currently open. It was previously reported that two countries are in the running to host some PSL 9 matches.

Due to Pakistan's elections, there is speculation that the United Arab Emirates and South Africa could host the opening matches of the PSL.

According to the sources, majority of the franchises are insisting that the entire tournament be held in Pakistan.

Renowned players like Alex Hales, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, David Wiese, Sikandar Raza, Colin Munro, James Vince, Rassie Van der Dussen and Hazratullah Zazai have already registered for the PSL 9 Draft , which promises an exciting lineup for the coming season.

The official draft for PSL 9 is scheduled to be released on December 13 in Lahore.
