Curtis Campher (born April 20, 1999) is a South African cricketer who currently represents the Irish cricket team. Camphor made his international debut for Ireland in June 2020.
Career
Camphor has an Irish passport and is qualified for the Irish cricket team through his grandmother. He had also played for the South African cricket team under 19 in the past. In February 2020 he was accepted into the Ireland Wolves team for their tour to Namibia. He made his Twenty20 debut on February 21, 2020, and his List-A debut on February 26, 2020, both for Ireland Wolves against Namibia, during their tour to South Africa.
On July 10, 2020, Camphor was called up to Ireland's 21-man squad to travel to England to practice behind closed doors for the One Day International (ODI) series against the English cricket team.
On July 28, 2020, Cricket Ireland named Campher as the series' first ODI in its 14-man roster. He made his ODI debut for Ireland against England on July 30, 2020. Campher scored the best score for Ireland in the game with 59 non-away games but lost with six wickets. In February 2021, Camphor was named to the Ireland Wolves squad for their tour to Bangladesh. Campher made his first-class debut for Ireland Wolves against the Bangladesh Emerging Team on February 26, 2021.
In August 2021, Camphor was named to the Irish squad of Twenty20 International (T20I) for the series against Zimbabwe. Campher made his T20I debut for Ireland against Zimbabwe on August 27, 2021. In September 2021, Camphor was appointed to Ireland's provisional squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
