Multan Sultans has changed its squad for the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, as Irishman Curtis Campher takes West Indian Gudakesh Motie's place.
Irishman Curtis Campher is the replacement for West Indian Gudakesh Motie in Multan Sultans' team for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, the team revealed on Monday.
Even though the franchise did not explain why there was a change, a number of media reports said that Motie had gone to Guyana for personal reasons and thus Campher took his place.
"New name in the squad! Welcome to the Sultans squad, Curtis Campher," the Sultans posted on social media with an animated poster of the Irish all-rounder.
Fast bowler and all-rounder Campher, who has played seven Tests, 43 ODIs, and 61 T20Is for Ireland, has had a chastening experience in franchise cricket, having played only two matches in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
In his two years there, Campher accumulated 128 runs in nine innings at a batting average of 18.28 and claimed nine wickets in 10 innings, with the best bowling of 4/20.
For those unfamiliar, the Sultans, who have reached four consecutive PSL finals, including the 2021 title, have had a disappointing start to the current season and are currently bottom of the table, having failed to win any of their three matches so far.
They face two-time champions Lahore Qalandars at home on Tuesday.
