Asif Ali (born October 1, 1991) is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the Pakistani cricket team. Asif represents Northern in first-class cricket and plays for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League.
Career
In August 2018 he was one of 33 players to receive a central contract for the 2018/19 season from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
He was the leading run scorer for Faisalabad in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2017/18 with 369 runs in six games. He even played Everest Premier League for Pokhara Rhinos in 2017. In April 2018, he was named to Punjab's squad for the 2018 Pakistan Cup. He scored the most runs for Punjab during the tournament, with 328 runs in four games.
On June 3, 2018, he was selected for the Edmonton Royals in the Players' Draft for the first edition of the Global T20 Canada tournament. In October 2018, he was named to the Cape Town Blitz squad for the first edition of the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament.
In March 2018, he was called up to Pakistan's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against the West Indies. On April 1, 2018, he made his T20I debut for Pakistan against the West Indies. On July 13, 2018, he made his ODI debut for Pakistan against Zimbabwe.
In May 2019, he was named to Pakistan's squad for the 2019 World Cricket Championship after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named their final 15-person squad for the tournament. In September 2021, he was appointed to the Pakistani squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Championship.
