Bangladesh-New Zealand Dhaka Test is repeatedly hampered by hostile weather. As a result, the playing time of the third day has been brought forward by 15 minutes.
Only 79 overs were played on the first day due to bad light. The second day's play was also scheduled to start 15 minutes earlier to make up for the 11-over deficit as much as possible. Accordingly, at 9:30 in the morning, the ball is supposed to be rolled on the field.
But under the influence of Cyclone Migzaum, it is raining all over the country, the capital Dhaka is not left out. On Thursday (December 7) no ball was played due to rain. The day's play was declared abandoned after waiting until the second session.
On the first day, however, the Dhaka Test saw the fall of 15 wickets. After winning the toss and batting first, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 172 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored the maximum 35 runs for the team, got out for obstructing the field. Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips took three wickets each for the Kiwis.
In response, New Zealand lost 5 wickets for 46 runs. Amassing 55 runs in 12.4 overs, it was a bit difficult for the Kiwis to dream of a lead. The third day's play will begin at 9:15 am to compensate for overs' loss.
