Former Bangladeshi captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was told to leave playing cricket about 9 years ago by Australian physician David Young. David Young is a famous physician for athletes as well as to the cricket fans. Whenever cricketers fall to brutal injury they headed to Young for medication. Physician suggests Mashrafe to leave cricket 9 years ago

Mashrafe is a familiar to David Young for his repetitive injuries. He went to Young many times whenever he got injury. Young was well informed about Mashrafe's physical ability and health. At that time David Young suggested Mashrafe to stay away from playing cricket for his own betterment in 2011. Mashrafe himself confirmed it while in a live session with Tamim Iqbal. Once Tamim had recourse to Young for treatment. At that time Young said to Tamim that, it's a wonder that Mashrafe is still playing out there, I have never seen someone like Mashrafe who has such dedication to sports after all these injuries. Mashrafe said,

"It was 2011, Young insisted on me to give up playing cricket. He suggested me to be with cricket but not on the field. Rather he suggested to get attached with something else. You should not do any more surgery. At that time, I told him, this time you have made me frustrated after coming to you, you should do the surgery, I will manage playing.”

Mashrafe suggested Tamim to prepare against such happenings. He said, "Every one of us face something critical like me at one stage. And we all had to go through it, it's better to learn how to overcome it. May be you won't suffer physical causalities rather you might have a mental pressure. Although, God makes us strong after all."
