Meanwhile, the Australian cricketers will be staying in England as they will lock horns with England in the iconic Ashes series. The first of the five-match Ashes series will go all guns blazing from June 16 onwards. The Ashes opener will kick off at Edgbaston whereas the second Test will be held at the Lord's on June 28.
The third Test will kick off at Headingley on July 6 and the fourth Test will be held on July 19 at Old Trafford. The fifth and final Ashes Test will kick off at The Oval on July 27. Meanwhile, as per TOI, it has been confirmed that Nitin Menon will be officiating the third Ashes Test.
It is indeed a proud moment for him in the first place and in fact, he is the only Indian in the ICC elite panel of umpires and the 39-year-old will serve as an on-field umpire for the third Test at Headingley in Leeds. Meanwhile, his on-field partner is Kumar Dharmasena from Sri Lanka.
A couple of months ago, Nitin Menon, in an interview with PTI stated that his dream series will be Ashes without the shadow of any doubt. He echoed that this is the only series he watches on TV because of the amazing atmosphere and the way the Ashes series is fought.
"My dream series will be Ashes without a doubt. That is the only series I watch on TV. The atmosphere, the way the series is fought, is something I want to be involved in. Whether in England or Australia, I would love to be part of it," Menon had told PTI after being elevated into the elite panel.
