New Zealand have crushed England by 423 runs to have a consolation victory in the third Test on Tuesday (December 17). Mitchell Santner's 7 wickets in the entire Test, along with a sublime 153 from Kane Williamson have helped the Blackcaps get this victory and finish the series on a positive note.
Earlier the day, England were down to 18-2. And then Joe Root and Jacob Bethell together came out to save England from further humiliation, stitching an impressive 104-run partnership before Mitchell Santner pinned Root for a LBW.
William ORourke then had Harry Brook, while Matt Henry knocked over wicketkeeper batter Ollie Pope for cheaply and Bethell was gone after his well made 76 as England lost half of their sides before reaching to 200.
Seam bowler Gus Atkinson was the only man to wag as he scored a quick-fire 43 off 41 balls but England were all-out for a paltry 234 runs. And ultimately lost the game by a massive margin of 423 runs.
England, however, have taken the series by and New Zealand got a consolation victory. Harry Brook was named as the player of the series for his fantastic tour and Mitchell Santner was named as the player of the match.
