New Zealand captain Tom Latham was overjoyed after his team's remarkable 3-0 whitewash against India, sealed by a thrilling 25-run victory in the third Test in Mumbai. The victory marked a historic moment, making Latham the first New Zealand skipper to achieve a series sweep in India, and the first captain to whitewash India in a three or more-match Test series at home.

Speaking after the match, Latham expressed his delight at the team's performance, highlighting their aggressive batting approach as a key factor in the series win. "Very, very ecstatic. Looking back at the start of the series and to be in this position, the boys have done a very good job. To finally do it here in Mumbai, we were challenged with bat and ball, and I’m very happy,” Latham said during the post-match presentation.

He added, "Just being able to adapt to each ground. There is no one way of doing things - the seamers did the job in Bangalore, and different guys stood up at different times. More contributions were what we were looking for.

Latham praised the collective efforts of his team, including Ajaz Patel, who played a pivotal role in the final Test with a match-winning performance. “Last week, it was Mitch, this time, it was Ajaz. We wanted to come here and try and fire a few shots, be aggressive with the bat, be proactive, and with the ball, keep it simple,” Latham explained.

Latham concluded by praising New Zealand’s women’s team for winning the T20 World Cup and acknowledged the collective achievement of New Zealand cricket. “Girls winning the World Cup was fantastic. Being in this position, we can only brag once we get to this point,” he added with a smile.

This series win also marked India's first home series loss since 2012, as New Zealand etched their names into the history books with a clinical display of cricket across all departments.
