New Zealand Women's defeated West Indies Women's by 8 runs as the Blackcaps have reached to the Final of ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Georgia Plimmer's gritty 33 off 31 balls and Suzie Bates 26 off 28 balls helped the Kiwis get 128 on the board. In reply, Eden Carson's exceptional spell of three wicket-haul helped the Kiwis get the ticket of the Final.

Opting to bat first, The Kiwis had a terrific start as the opening duo Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer added 48 runs before Karishma Ramharack knocked over the former one. Georgia, however played another gritty knock as she made 33 off 31 before falling to Afy Fletcher.

And then the Blackcaps had a mild collapse and amid the collapse Brooke Halliday played a quick-fire cameo of 18 off 9 balls and wicketkeeper Isabella Gaze scored a brisk 20 off 14 balls to help the Kiwis get 128 on the board.

In reply, West Indies didn't have a solid way to start to their innings. Captain Hayley Matthews couldn't make a good knock as she departed earlier on. Qiana Joseph was knocked over by Eden Carson and then she had Shemaine Campbell. Carson took the world on fire as her twice strikes in the powerplay helped the Kiwis get the upperhand.

After a horrible start, West Indies made a comeback by Deandra Dottin, who blasted a quick-fire cameo of 33 off only 22 balls before Amelia Kerr removed her and uplifted the Kiwis.

At the backend of the innings, the game went tight but the Kiwis hold their nerves to have a close 8-run victory.
