Mustafizur Rahman entered the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL) as a foreign icon. The ownership of Dambulla has shifted, yet they still have faith in Mustafizur. But Mustafizur is unable to live up to the expectations of such trust.

So far, Mustafizur has taken 5 wickets in 4 innings. He gave more than 11 runs per over. He was also dropped from the playing XI in the last match of Dambulla Sixers.

The captain of Dambulla, Muhammad Nabi, believes that Mustafizur is not benefiting from the LPL's current conditions. Like other bowlers, he is equally vulnerable on pitches that are good for batting.

Nabi said, “No, for me Mustafizur's performance is not disappointing. He is a great T20 bowler. He has done very well in the IPL, World Cup, and for the national team. It's not disappointing.”

Bowlers in LPL are very helpless, batters are dominating the tournament. New rules like Power Blast have made it difficult for death over specialists. Nabi added, “Condition also plays a big role. Everyone should bowl according to the conditions. His bowling may not have suited him in these conditions, he will come strong.”
