Salahuddin’s assignment will begin with the upcoming tour of the West Indies.

Salahuddin, a seasoned coach with over two decades of experience, is no stranger to Bangladesh cricket. Previously serving as the assistant and fielding coach for the national team from 2006 to 2010, Salahuddin has earned a reputation for his ability to transform players. Top cricketers like Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal have often sought his guidance to hone their skills.

The 50-year-old is also among the most successful coaches in Bangladesh's domestic cricket. He has multiple Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) titles under his belt and has guided teams to victory in the Dhaka Premier League. Now, he steps in to address the persistent struggles of the national batting lineup, aiming to bring consistency and depth to their performances.

David Hemp, who previously served as the batting coach, did not accompany the team to the West Indies. Likely, he will return to his former role as head coach of the High-Performance (HP) Unit. Alongside Hemp, analyst Mohsin Sheikh has also been replaced, with India’s Akshay Hiremath taking over the role.
