Mohammad Saifuddin may not be in the national team right now, but the Bangladesh all-rounder is making waves in the USA Minor League Cricket. Representing Atlanta Fire, Saifuddin delivered an outstanding all-round performance to secure a commanding victory over Ft Lauderdale Lions.
Atlanta Fire posted a massive 236/4 in their 20 overs, with Steven Taylor leading the charge with a brilliant century. He smashed 112 off just 61 balls, hitting 9 fours and 9 sixes. In response, Fort Lauderdale Lions lost Tagenarine Chanderpaul, son of the legendary Shivnarine Chanderpaul, to the very first ball of the innings, courtesy of a fiery delivery from Saifuddin. The Lions’ batting line-up never truly recovered despite efforts from Isaiah Rajah, Dino Chooweenam, and Kevin Stoute. Saifuddin also bagged the wicket of Clinton Pestano, finishing with figures of 2/11 from 4 overs, which included a maiden.
Fort Lauderdale could only manage 162/7 in their 20 overs, with Kevin Stoute top-scoring with 58 off 40 balls. Chooweenam contributed 35 off 33 balls, but the target was far beyond their reach as they fell 74 runs short. Atlanta Fire's bowlers, including Saifuddin, Corné Dry, and Zia Shahzad, dominated the game to seal a comprehensive win.
