Hobart Hurricanes' veteran wicketkeeper Matthew Wade is set to miss the BBL until the new year after suffering a calf injury. He's set to miss Hobart Hurricanes' next game against Adelaide Strikers on Friday, December 27 at the Adelaide Oval.

Matthew Wade suffered a calf injury during the first match against Melbourne Renegades. Wade made only five runs as the Hurricanes were all-out out for 74 in their season opening defeat in Geelong against Renegades.
"It's about a two week (recovery) and that's right on two weeks," Wade said.
"It was a bit unfortunate but thankful that it's at the start of the tournament and I can get back and get a lead in before finals."

However, Hurricanes bounced back strongly after Matthew Wade's opening partner Mitch Owen slammed a sensational 101* off only 64 deliveries to help the Canes get their maiden victory of the season.
